Customer Story
The problem
good businesses turned away over terms that didn't fit

Alex runs Dynamic Funding on his own, and he's been sending deals to Wayflyer since November 2022, long before there was a dedicated broker program, portal, or account manager built for brokers like him.
His referrals come almost entirely through relationships: high street banks on deals they can't do themselves, accountants and other brokers, and various government departments. Invoice finance, supply and trade finance, and loans, credit lines and secured lending each make up about a third of his deal flow, across industries as varied as eCommerce, engineering, construction, recruitment and tech.
Most UK lenders ask the business owner to personally guarantee the loan, taking on liability outside the business itself. For a lot of Alex's clients, that's where the conversation ends.
Others could get funding, just not in a form that suited them: a percentage of revenue instead of a fixed, predictable repayment, or a product built to run for years when they only needed it for months.
For that shorter-term need, a shipment, a contract, a busy season, the alternatives come with a catch: arrangement fees that make even early repayment expensive, or invoice finance that takes 5 to 6 weeks to set up and puts contracted debt against the business.
On top of that, chasing each deal took time Alex didn't have. Running Dynamic Funding by himself means every hour spent chasing a decision, or staying in touch with a client after a deal closes, is an hour he's not spending on the next referral.
Solution
no personal guarantee, flexible terms, and a process that doesn't slow him down
One of the things that makes Wayflyer stand out compared to other lenders in the market is that a lot of them require personal guarantees. Wayflyer doesn't require this, and that works well for a lot of businesses I work with. They may be able to get slightly cheaper pricing elsewhere, but they'd rather pay a bit more and go to Wayflyer.

Wayflyer's customers can also choose how they repay: a percentage of revenue, or a fixed amount over a set term. For clients who want predictability, the fixed option has made it an easier sell for Alex. For funding needed over a few months rather than a few years, Wayflyer's terms avoid the arrangement fees that come with longer loans, and it's simpler than the invoice financing Alex would otherwise reach for: no new contracted bank account, no 5 to 6 week setup.
Submitting a deal is just as straightforward: he drags and drops the files and submits, with no complicated steps in between.
Once a deal closes, Wayflyer helps manage successive financing.
I can close one client and then be involved in transactions moving forward, but I always know there's someone at Wayflyer who can service that client. That's a massive selling point for me, and it's something other competitors don't do.

Results
an extra option that keeps clients coming back, without adding to his workload
Wayflyer has given Alex a product he didn't have before, one he can now leverage with traditional industries like engineering, construction and recruitment that might not have considered this type of financing.
A lot of the businesses I work with may need funds for six months, three months, nine months, twelve months, whatever. I find it's quite sticky. Once they get on board and realize it can help the business, they tend to stay with them, or come back and make future drawdowns.
Alex, Dynamic Funding
For a one-person brokerage with limited capacity, having Wayflyer service the relationship after the deal closes matters. He'll sometimes see a deal close for a client he hasn't spoken to in a while, and knowing Wayflyer is servicing that relationship in the background takes something off his plate.
“Give it a go, you've got nothing to lose. What Wayflyer offers is unique, and it may not be the right fit for every business, but they're definitely expanding the types of businesses they can work with. Once you've got one or two clients funded, it all gets a lot easier, and it actually becomes really easy over time.”
